A graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology. In 2009, prof. Witold F. Krajewski was appointed the director of the Iowa Flood Center. In addition to his work at Iowa Flood Center, prof. Krajewski is also chairman of the Rose and Joseph Summers Chair of Water Resources Engineering at the University of Iowa, and is also a professor at the Civil and Environmental Engineering and Research Engineer at IIHR-Hydroscience & Engineering.

In 1976, prof. Witold F. Krajewski received a master’s degree, then in 1980 a PhD in environmental engineering and water resources at the Warsaw University of Technology. Until 1987 he worked as a hydrologist at Hydrology of the National Weather Service, then joined the group of professors at the University of Iowa.

Scientific interests of Dr. Witold F. Krajewski focus on measurement, modeling and forecasting of rainfalls using radar and satellite remote sensing. Dr Krajewski published over 190 articles in magazines.

Dr Krajewski is also a member of American Geophysical Union and American Meteorological Society. He was a member of numerous committees as well as various professional organizations. In addition, he sat in several editorial magazines. He was the editor of Advances in Water Resources. In 2012, he was chairman of the Consortium of Universities for the Advancement of Hydrologic Science, Inc. In 2012 he also received an award given to outstanding lecturers: University of Iowa Graduate College. Outstanding Mentoring Faculty in Mathematical and Physical Sciences and Engineering.
