Stormwater Poland 2025 – A Conference on Adapting Drainage Systems in the Face of Climate Change
Join us for the ninth edition of Stormwater Poland 2025, which will take place on March 24-26, 2025, in Poznań, Poland. Organized under the theme “Meeting at the Midway Point,” this event aims to discuss the key challenges and opportunities related to adapting cities to climate change. The Stormwater Poland conference is an annual platform for experts and practitioners in stormwater management, especially in the context of drainage systems, which are becoming increasingly important in the face of extreme weather events.
Topics Covered
Why is adaptation necessary?
Insights from the 2024 floods that impacted Poland and Europe, analyzed on both global and local levels. The session will discuss the consequences of extreme weather events and their influence on water policies.
How to accelerate adaptation?
This session focuses on advanced technologies and methods to enhance the efficiency of existing stormwater retention systems. Experts will present new approaches to smart retention management, monitoring, and innovative solutions for stormwater treatment. The discussion aims to provide actionable insights on intensifying efforts to reduce urban flood risks and improve the quality of stormwater as a local resource.
New Tools for Adaptation
This session will cover the latest tools and technologies used in climate modeling and drainage system design. The analysis will focus on scaling these tools for smaller systems and the need to incorporate long-term climate forecasts to better plan for climate adaptation. Speakers will highlight the most useful tools for the water and sewage industry to enhance adaptation project effectiveness.
How to Ensure Adaptation Sustainability?
The closing session will focus on the durability of drainage systems in the context of changing climatic, demographic, and labor market conditions. Infrastructure operators will share effective strategies for maintaining systems over the long term and discuss potential financing models to ensure continuity and stability of adaptation efforts in Polish cities.
Why Attend Stormwater Poland 2025?
The Stormwater Poland 2025 conference in Poznań is the largest event in Poland dedicated solely to stormwater management and climate adaptation. It is a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience among experts, scientists, technology companies, and representatives of municipal authorities.
Conference participants will gain insights into green-blue infrastructure, the latest detention and retention methods, and the funding opportunities for adaptation investments through EU funds, such as the European Regional Development Fund and the Cohesion Fund.
Join us in Poznań to participate in discussions on the future of climate change adaptation, covering both retention strategies and the design of green-blue infrastructure. Stormwater Poland 2025 is an opportunity to help create better, more resilient cities for the future.
