Workshop – Green-Blue and Grey Infrastructure – Collaboration in the Era of Climate Change

Shifting the paradigm from rapid stormwater drainage to retention and flow delay requires skillful integration of green-blue infrastructure with technical solutions. But how can this be done effectively? When should an engineering-heavy approach be used, and when are nature-based solutions sufficient?

This workshop will not only cover the theoretical aspects but also showcase practical solutions. Additionally, it will provide insights into the perspectives of funding institutions, including the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW), regarding urban stormwater projects. Piotr Czarnocki from the Ministry of Climate and Environment will discuss available funding opportunities and the solutions promoted under programs like FENIKS and FENG.

In an era of climate change and evolving social expectations, cities need cost-effective, resilient stormwater systems that can handle extreme weather events while enhancing urban livability. Such cities also tend to attract investors. Led by experts who seamlessly integrate nature-based solutions with technology, this hands-on workshop will provide practical answers to the challenges of today—at a time when we are at the midpoint of climate change, where half of the predicted global temperature rise is already a certainty, not just a forecast.

Workshop – Defining the Legal Conditions for Green-Blue Infrastructure Solutions

The workshop will discuss the imprecise provisions in water law and regulations and their consequences for the design process in terms of sustainable stormwater management. We will discuss potential regulatory changes to facilitate the widespread implementation of green-blue infrastructure solutions. The goal of the workshop will be to develop proposals for provisions in laws and regulations that could eventually be implemented into legal acts. The workshop will be led by specialized lawyers and engineers.

Following the Wavin TreeTank and historical landmarks of Poznań

On behalf of Wavin, we warmly invite you to join us for a unique walk through the picturesque streets of Poznań, which will take place on March 24, 2025, at 17:00.

During the guided walk with our expert, we will show you:

  • The Wavin TreeTank solutions – anti-compaction tanks for trees, which, as we know, play a crucial role in cities by reducing air pollution, mitigating the negative effects of climate change, and having a beneficial impact on the local community and the environment.
  • The beauty of historical landmarks such as the Imperial Castle, one of the most extraordinary buildings in Poznań, and the Old Market Square.

The gathering will take place in front of the Imperial Castle at Św. Marcin 80/82 at 17:00.

Our expert, Agnieszka Wrzesińska, will present the Wavin TreeTank solutions implemented in the revitalized courtyard of the Castle, followed by a tour of its interiors with a guide who will share the fascinating history of the place. During the walk through the city, we will stop at other innovative urban solutions, and our exploration will end at the Old Market Square.

The walk will last approximately 3 hours, and participation in the event is free of charge. Join us to learn more about our urban solutions and discover the beauty of the capital of Greater Poland.

Please wear comfortable shoes and bring a good mood!
