Municipal Waterworks and Sewerage in Bydgoszcz



A graduate of the Poznań University of Technology with a degree from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, he embarked on his professional career in the water and sewage industry. He began working at the Voivodeship Water and Sewage Company in Konin as the Head of the Operations Department. Upon moving to Bydgoszcz in 1988, he joined the Municipal Construction Projects Office, where he was involved in the design of water and sewage infrastructure. In 1995, he took on the role of the Head of the Technical-Investment Department in the city waterworks.

In 1997, he won the competition for the position of Director of the Municipal Construction Projects Office in Bydgoszcz. In September 1999, he was appointed to the Management Board of the Municipal Water and Sewage Company (MWiK), where he currently serves as the President of the Board. From 2002 to 2012, he led the modernization of the entire water and sewage system in Bydgoszcz, co-financed by the European Union under two investment projects: the Bydgoszcz Water and Sewage System (BSWiK) and the Bydgoszcz Water and Sewage System II (BSWiK II). During this period, a total of 31 investment projects were implemented to expand water and sewage technical infrastructure. Concurrently with his professional work, he held various positions in the Chamber of Commerce “Polish Water.”

From 2002 to 2012, he was a member of the Chamber’s Council, serving as Vice President from 2004 to 2006 and as President from 2006 to 2011. Additionally, from 2005 to 2006, he served on the Board of the Kapuściska Water Company. Since 2013, he has been leading the preparation and development of a comprehensive project titled “Construction and Reconstruction of Storm Sewerage and Adaptation of Storm Sewer Networks to Climate Change in Bydgoszcz.” This is the first project in Poland that provides the possibility of complete management of rainwater in the city using retention and artificial intelligence.
