Adaptation with quality
The seventh edition of the Stormwater Poland conference took place on 26–28 September 2023 in Katowice, under the motto “Adaptation with Quality.” The program focused on raising standards in stormwater management – from water quality and treatment technologies to catchment-scale modeling and the implementation of blue-green infrastructure.
Case studies from Poland and across Europe were presented, demonstrating how climate change adaptation can be effectively implemented in practice. The conference also featured field workshops in Gliwice, where participants could observe operational retention systems, monitoring tools, and measurement methods.
The edition concluded with an Oxford-style debate on the quality of water in Polish rivers. The year 2023 reaffirmed that effective adaptation requires a strong focus on stormwater quality, design standards, and the durability of urban infrastructure.
