Stormwater Poland 2025

Let’s meet at the halfway point

The ninth edition of Stormwater Poland took place on 24–26 March 2025 in Poznań, bringing together several hundred participants from across the country. The program was divided into four thematic blocks: “Why Do We Need Adaptation?”, “How to Accelerate Adaptation?”, “New Tools for Adaptation”, and “How to Ensure the Durability of Adaptation?”.

Discussions focused on the consequences of the 2024 flood, innovative retention technologies, digital climate modeling, and financing mechanisms for investments in blue-green infrastructure. The event was accompanied by workshops — including those on cooperation between blue-green and grey infrastructure and on legal frameworks for implementing new solutions — as well as a WavinTour thematic walk featuring a presentation of the TreeTank system.

The motto “Let’s Meet at the Halfway Point” referred not to the history of the conference itself, but to the moment in which Europe and Poland currently stand in the context of projected climate changes. Experts emphasized that we are halfway toward meeting key climate projections, and that the decisions and actions taken today will determine the effectiveness of adaptation in the coming decades.

Thus, the 2025 edition became a space for reflection on how to combine science, technology, and law to effectively prepare cities for the future.
