Agata Wehlin has 13 years of experience from the stormwater management sector. I have a M.Sc. in Environmental and Health Protection from Stockholm University. I started my career as a stormwater management consultant at SWECO where I stayed for ten years; the last three years as a group manager for the stormwater and climate adaptation section.
Today I work as a stormwater expert at Nacka Municipality, Stockholm county, at the Building and Construction department developing public spaces where blue and green infrastructure, as well as cloudburst adaptation is being implemented. Previously I had the role as a stormwater strategist dealing with the overall organizational stormwater issues, implementing policies, creating guidelines etc.
I have a great deal of experience on stormwater management at different levels. From the receiving water and catchment area perspective to planning, detailed design, construction and evaluation of existing facilities.
My presentation will focus on implementing a new stormwater strategy and guidelines to the urban development process. I will brief you about Nacka’s way of working from a catchment area perspective while having water quality and the EU Water Framework Directive in focus. I will present concrete examples on blue-green infrastructure that we have developed and discuss the details of the design.
