Prof. Paweł Licznar
A graduate of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Wrocław University of Technology. He received his doctoral degree in 2002 at the Faculty of Melioration and Environmental Engineering of the Agricultural University in Wrocław on the basis of the dissertation entitled: “Modeling of water erosion processes in a small agricultural catchment”. He obtained the post-doctoral degree in technical sciences in the field of environmental engineering in 2010 at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering of the Wrocław University of Technology on the basis of the dissertation entitled: “Synthetic rainfall series generators for modeling rainwater and combined sewer networks”. Since 2011, an academic teacher at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering of the Wrocław University of Technology.
From the beginning of his professional career, he has been associated with water issues, in particular water circulation in the city. He has conducted numerous studies on forecasting water divisions in water supply systems, monitoring and modeling rainfall in urban areas, and modeling rainwater and meltwater drainage systems. A precursor of the application of the theory of multifractals and random cascades to modeling time series and rainfall fields in Poland.
Co-founder of the www.retencja.pl portal. Scientific manager of the project for the development and implementation of the Polish Atlas of Rain Intensity (PANDa). The originator of building a digital platform for designers WaterFolder.com.
