A graduate of the Faculty of Earth Sciences at the University of Silesia in Katowice. He received his PhD and postdoctoral degrees in Earth Sciences and in geography in 2008 and 2018, respectively, at the Faculty of Earth Sciences of the University of Silesia. From 2019, he was employed as a professor at the University of Silesia at the Faculty of Natural Sciences. Coordinator of the area of exact and natural sciences as well as engineering and technical sciences at the Doctoral School of the University of Silesia. Promoter of doctoral dissertations, numerous MA and BA theses. Author and co-author of projects and over 100 international scientific publications. Research interests: hydrology (limnology, potamology), urban hydrology, anthropogenic changes in water conditions, anthropogenic water reservoirs with particular emphasis on their impact on the natural environment and hydrochemistry of surface waters.
