Stephan Treuke holds a PhD in Social Science, awarded by the Federal University of Bahia, Salvador, Bahia – Brazil. In 2019, he was a visiting scholar at the Department of Social Science, Federal University of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais – Brazil, before he started working for the Emschergenossenschaft and Lippeverband in 2020 as a Project Coordinator of “Emscher 2020” and “Emscherland”. He furthermore applies concepts of transformational management to increase the organizational performance of the Future Initiative “Klimaresiliente Region mit Internationaler Strahlkraft” and develops projects of climate change adapation. His main research fields are cross-community urban development, climate change adaptation in the city, transformation research, welfare systems in transition and urban poverty. Since April 2021, he is a lecturer in Institute of Urban and Regional Planning Ruhr University Bochum, Lecturer at the Dep. Of Social Science, Germany.
