Session 4.

When looking to the future, implementing new projects, we must not forget that we must increasingly take care of what we have already built or what we are taking over into our operation. There are more and more kilometers of rainwater drainage systems, the number of rainwater and snowmelt water retention and drainage facilities, and all these networks and facilities, without operation and maintenance, quickly age. Hence the need for a separate dedicated block: Maintenance of drainage and retention systems.

Maintenance is not only about financing. During this session, we would like to give the floor again to the operators and their engineers who have experience in restoring the functions of networks and facilities after years of improper use or in the renovation of drainage systems that have long ended their depreciation period. It is worth discussing the risks of exploitation, but also good practices and technical solutions protecting the drainage infrastructure against devastation and premature decapitalization.
