The tenth edition of Stormwater Poland is a symbolic and exceptional milestone—a chance to reflect on a decade of intensive development in stormwater management in Poland. The opening session, “The Water Decade,” provides a review of the experiences of the past ten years: from the first systemic initiatives, through the mistakes made, to the solutions that today can serve as benchmarks for other cities.

It is a space for reflecting on how the perception of rainwater has evolved—from a technical problem to a key element of urban safety, quality of life, and climate resilience. An international perspective meets local experiences of Polish municipalities, which are dynamically implementing new water management models. The session sets the tone for the entire conference, raising the question of whether the path taken will allow cities to meet the challenges of the coming decade.
